Marcel GUILLAUME est un aixois d’adoption vu qu’il est né à Moulins (Allier), le 9 mars 1925.

Dès son enfance, il est passionné par le 7ème Art. A 20 ans, il ouvre le premier cinéma de sa ville natale.

Mais il rêve de créer une salle de cinéma moderne dans une ville d’étudiants. Son choix se porte sur la ville d’Aix où il s’installe avec sa famille en 1957. Il veut faire d’Aix la capitale du 7ème Art.

Le complexe « Le Cezanne » avec ses neuf salles de cinéma ouvre ses portes en 1959 ; suivi, peu de temps après, par le « Mazarin » et le « Renoir ». Toute sa vie, Marcel GUILLAUME géra son entreprise dans un esprit familial et fut très apprécié par son personnel.

De plus, il nourrissait une autre passion, tout aussi forte, pour le rugby. Il fut le président du « PARC » (Pays d’Aix Rugby Club) de 1990 à 1994.

Marcel GUILLAUME meurt à Aix le 27 avril 1994, à l’âge de 69 ans.

A sa mort, son fils Jean-Marie reprit les commandes des 3 cinémas.

Marcel GUILLAUME died in Aix on April 27, 1994, at the age of 69.

On his death, his son Jean-Marie took over the controls of the 3 cinemas.
