Jean RICHARD est né à Aix en 1924.

En 1947, il succède à son père et à son grand-père à la tête de la boulangerie familiale sise rue du PUITS NEUF.

Il s’engagera comme syndicaliste pour défendre sa profession et finira Président des Artisans Boulangers.

Il n’y a pas que la qualité du pain et des pâtisseries qui le préoccupe, Jean RICHARD est aussi un passionné de théâtre. Dès 1941, il crée l’association caritative de théâtre « L’Effort Artistique » dont les bénéfices sont destinés à fournir des cadeaux aux prisonniers de guerre.

Ensuite, il est membre fondateur de la Compagnie des Quatre Dauphins, des Amis du Théâtre Populaire et organise le premier Festival du Théâtre Provençal. De plus, il sera assez souvent figurant au Festival d’Art Lyrique d’Aix.

Jean RICHARD meurt à Aix en 1998 à 74 ans.
