Pierre PAVILLON est né à Paris le 20 février 1612. Il est issu d’une famille d’artistes.

Après une formation d’architecte et une initiation à la sculpture, il décide de s’installer définitivement à Aix.

Avec son ami Jean-Claude RAMBOT, ils seront responsables de la construction et de la décoration d’un ensemble d’Hôtels, de chapelles et d’églises édifiés à Aix entre 1625 et 1670.

Pierre PAVILLON meurt à Aix le 24 octobre 1670, infirme et malade, à l’âge de 58 ans

L’Hôtel de Ville d'Aix restera son œuvre principale. Les travaux commencent en 1656 et s'achèvent en 1658. Pierre PAVILLON réalise les sculptures des façades et l’inscription en lettres d’or « HÔTEL de VILLE ».

Pierre PAVILLON was born in Paris on February 20, 1612. He comes from a family of artists.
