The Annunciade or Annunciation is a Catholic name that describes the moment when the Archangel Gabriel announces to the Virgin Mary that she is pregnant with Jesus Christ, son of God. This announcement is at the origin of the belief in a virgin conception of Christ. It is celebrated every year on March 25, exactly nine months before Christmas.
