Elle est l’endroit où les moines dominicains prônaient la bonne parole de Dieu. Les PRÊCHEURS étaient des théologiens qui venaient en aide aux gens et les évangélisaient.

À cet endroit avaient lieu les sermons des prêcheurs mais aussi les exécutions publiques de toutes sortes (pendaison, supplice de la roue, décapitation, etc.). La dernière eut lieu le 10 avril 1934 non pas sur la Place des PRÊCHEURS mais bien devant la porte de la prison où Georges SARRET fut guillotiné.

In this place the sermons of the preachers were held, but also public executions of all kinds (hanging, wheeling, beheading, etc.). The last one took place on April 10, 1934, not on the Place des PRÊCHEURS but in front of the prison door where Georges SARRET was guillotined.
